Located in Victoria Street and built by WJ Barrie in 1865, the top of the tower leans four feet off the perpendicular, the Clock leans as it was built on wooden piles on marshy, reclaimed land around the River Farset. The tower is 113 feet high (not quite Pisa) and is one of the best known landmarks of Belfast.

The City Hall

Home of the Belfast City Council, this magnificent Edwardian “wedding cake” was built during 1896-1906 by Alfred Brumwell Thomas, to reflect Belfast’s City status which was granted by Queen Victoria in 1888. The Dome is 173 feet high.

The Crown Saloon

An outstanding example of a Victorian gin palace, The Crown is one of Northern Ireland’s oldest and best-known pubs. The Crown Liquor Saloon was built in 1839-1840 and is owned by the National Trust. Panels in the restaurant on the first floor were meant for the Britannic, the sister ship of the Titanic.

Insightful, informative, enjoyable
Tour was really informative. Our tour guide, Mark was really friendly and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the tour, Mark remained impartial throughout the tour and gave a good account of people’s perspectives from both sides of the troubles. I would highly recommend for anyone interested in a political tour of Belfast.

Fascinating
Mark is extremely knowledgeable and unbiased on the troubles, giving a great overview of Belfast's history. Some eye opening stories and truths about the fragility of peace in the city. A brilliant way to spend 90 minutes if visiting here.

Best Tour I’ve had in Ireland- ...and most anywhere, to be honest. Mark was our Driver/guide and it was personal, political and thank goodness finally a tour that wasn’t by script. We asked questions constantly and he took the time we needed in order to understand a really complex issue. Again, Mark, for us was perfect- we took the Political themed tour.
